Premature ejaculation? -

how do i keep it going longer? Cant seem to hang in there

I-m not exactly sure what you-re asking? You want to ejaculate later or keep it going once it starts? I-m not sure humans really have much control over that. I guess you could...practice going longer, but to be honest, I have no clue. Ask a doctor.

I love picking random questions off the answers page...
In general, practice and relaxation will help you deal with the problem. Some men try to distract themselves by thinking non-sexual thoughts (such as naming baseball players and records) to avoid becoming excited too fast.

Some helpful techniques include the following:

The -stop and start- method:

This technique involves sexual stimulation until the man recognizes that he is about to ejaculate. The stimulation is then removed for about thirty seconds and then may be resumed. The sequence is repeated until ejaculation is desired, the final time allowing the stimulation to continue until ejaculation occurs.

The -squeeze- method:

This technique involves sexual stimulation until the man recognizes that he is about to ejaculate. At that point, the man or his partner gently squeezes the end of the penis (where the glans meets the shaft) for several seconds, withholding further sexual stimulation for about 30 seconds, and then resuming stimulation. The sequence may be repeated by the person or couple until ejaculation is desired, the final time allowing the stimulation to continue until ejaculation occurs.
Many men occasionally ejaculate sooner during sexual intercourse than they or their partner would like. As long as it happens infrequently, it-s probably not cause for concern. However, if you regularly ejaculate sooner than you and your partner wish — such as before intercourse begins or shortly afterward — you may have a condition known as premature ejaculation.

Premature ejaculation is a common sexual disorder. Estimates vary, but some experts think it affects as many as one out of three men. Even though it-s a common problem that can be treated, many men feel embarrassed to talk to their doctors about it or seek treatment.

Once thought to be purely psychological, experts now know that biological factors also play an important role in premature ejaculation. In some men, premature ejaculation is related to erectile dysfunction.

You don-t have to live with premature ejaculation — treatments including medications, psychological counseling and learning sexual techniques to delay ejaculation can improve sex for you and your partner. For many men, a combination of treatments works best.

There-s no medical standard for how long it should take a man to ejaculate. The primary sign of premature ejaculation is ejaculation that occurs before both partners wish in the majority of sexual encounters, causing concern or distress. The problem may occur in all sexual situations, including during masturbation — or it may only occur during sexual encounters with another person.

Doctors often classify premature ejaculation as either primary or secondary:

You have primary premature ejaculation if you-ve had the problem for as long as you-ve been sexually active.
You have secondary premature ejaculation if you developed the condition after having had previous, satisfying sexual relationships without ejaculatory problems.

Experts are still trying to determine exactly what causes premature ejaculation. While it was once thought to be only psychological, we now know premature ejaculation is more complicated and involves a complex interaction of both psychological and biological factors.

Psychological causes
Some doctors believe that early sexual experiences may establish a pattern that can be difficult to change later in life such as:

Situations in which you may have hurried to reach climax in order to avoid being discovered
Guilty feelings that increase your tendency to rush through sexual encounters
Other factors that can play a role in causing premature ejaculation include:

Erectile dysfunction. Men who are anxious about obtaining or maintaining their erection during sexual intercourse may form a pattern of rushing to ejaculate which can be difficult to change.
Anxiety. Many men with premature ejaculation also have problems with anxiety — either specifically about sexual performance, or caused by other issues.
Biological causes
Experts believe a number of biological factors may contribute to premature ejaculation, including:

Abnormal hormone levels
Abnormal levels of brain chemicals called neurotransmitters
Abnormal reflex activity of the ejaculatory system
Certain thyroid problems
Inflammation and infection of the prostate or urethra
Inherited traits
Rarely, premature ejaculation is caused by:

Nervous system damage resulting from surgery or trauma
Withdrawal from narcotics or a drug called trifluoperazine (Stelazine), used to treat anxiety and other mental health problems
Although both biological and psychological factors likely play a role in most cases of premature ejaculation, experts think a primarily biological cause is more likely if it has been a lifelong problem (primary premature ejaculation).
Hi,

Premature ejaculation is the inability to delay ejaculation till the man wishes or when ejaculation occurs too early in the sexual act to satisfy both partners. The time to reach the stage of ejaculation is subjective and varies form one man to another. Some men may ejaculate immediately after copulation begins while another may not ejaculate even after 10 minutes. Thus, time is not a criterion for ascertaining whether the ejaculation is premature or not; mutual satisfaction is the benchmark against which this condition is measured.

The cause

Premature ejaculation primarily has a physiological basis. Biologically, men have an orgasm approximately 2-3 minutes after penetrating the vagina. Women, on the other hand, typically take more time to reach the climax. Since in most cases, the partners may not climax together, they are not satisfied and the ejaculation is termed premature.

However, premature ejaculation may be caused by a variety of psychological and social reasons. It is seen that it occurs frequently when the man is under mental stress or anxiety. Anxiety may be due to the fear of non-performance, the fear of being discovered (as during premarital or extramarital sex in our society) or anxiety related to contraction of sexually transmitted diseases or an unwanted pregnancy.

Though men of all ages may experience the condition, it is more common in adolescents, young adults and inexperienced men. However, it is also true that almost all men experience it at some point in their lives. Premature ejaculation is one of the most common sexual problems for which couples seek advice. The result of treatment is often successful.

The treatment

In some cases, the problem can be solved simply by educating an individual about the condition and reassuring him. Counselling is provided by psychologists that helps a man to deal with his fears and anxieties and, thus, eliminate the psychological causes of the condition. The following techniques may be beneficial in delaying ejaculation:
The -stop and start- method – in this method, the man learns to recognise the stage after which he cannot control ejaculation. The treatment method trains the person to remove the stimulus just before that stage is reached so that the urge to ejaculate is controlled. For example, when during masturbation, the man reaches a point just before ejaculating, he stops the stimulus until he starts losing the erection. Once the stage is past, he can resume the activity. This process is repeated again and again until the individual is able to delay ejaculation till the time he wishes. This method called the -Masters and Johnson method-, is most effective when the help of the partner is sought during actual intercourse.

The squeeze technique – in this method, the partner gently squeezes the tip or base of the penis just before the point of ejaculation thereby -cancelling- the orgasm. This process can be continued until the couple decides mutually to reach the climax.

Desensitising creams and gels are available in the market that reduce the sensitivity of the penis and help men reach climax later. Some men also feel that condoms reduce the sensations and, in addition to providing safer sex, help them last longer.

The couple can also experiment with sexual positions as some positions offer more control than others and may help to delay ejaculation

Hi.

There are a lot of ways to keep it going longer, unless you-ve a physical health problem. One of it is to control the excitement that is inside you, by shifting your thought to some other thing; or by using a type of ointment to make it less sensitive, or make your partner come first before you by using certain technique, so that relatively you-ll stand longer than her.

Thank you

Leon.
