The viscosity can be a problem if its to liquidy and on the flip side if its to thick. I would see an male infertility urologist and let him run a semen analsis on you. They can tell if there are any real issues, and what is causing it.
THere are many reasons you are experiencing this, from your age to the last time you ejaculated. It could be that your sperm count is low, but before you jump to conclusions do not ejaculate for a couple of days, if you do not see an imporvement (assuming there really was a change in the consistancy) then you should consult a physician. But seriously...give the little guy a break once in a while.
