Blood in semen after ejaculation, whats the cause? -
My boyfriend has been experiencing this lately. While having sex, after he ejaculates, he finds that there is blood, also what seem to be small stringy clots, in the condom.
He has been to the uroligist and they indicated that it looks like prostiatis. They put him on a antibiotic for several weeks and it looked like it was gone. Then it came back. Same thing happenned as in above. He took another round of antibiotics and it still happenned. Only happens during sex, not oral or masturbation.
Some doctors have told him to watch his stress level, stay away from caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods, but this just seems silly.
It just seems that it must be something else that is causing this. It seems as though his urologists are clueless and this is an ongoing embarassing problem for us that I dont want to lead to our demise.
Also, can anyone reccomend a stellar urologist in the NYC metro area??

Dont be embarassed, and it wont lead to your demise. You sound like a very caring, concerned, loving and perfect girlfriend. Its a good sign that it got better with antibiotics to begin with, that seems to suggest its bacterial instead of something worse. sometimes infections can take a long time to clean up, or maybe he stopped taking antibiotics too soon, or maybe there is a more optimal antibiotic. I suggest you are doing the right thing by getting a second opinion and seeing another urologist. I empathise it must be stressful. so you want to get on top of the problem as soon as possible.
